This website was created as a final project for the course CLAS3711: The Art of Imperial Rome and Its Empire, taught by Professor Chelsea Gardner at Mount Allison University in the Winter 2018 semester. My name is Cheryl Mackinnon, and I am currently a third-year student at Mount Allison, taking a Double Major in Classics and History.
The aim of the website is to provide a fairly in-depth look at the process of damnatio memoriae, and how it affected the art of the Imperial period. Hopefully it will provide some insight into the fascinating and intriguing phenomenon that was damnatio memoriae, in ancient Rome!
